About UNA Haiti

Who we are

There are those of us Haitians out there who take offense on how the country is being run by our Haitian counterparts. What worse is that it is being done with the help of the international community. Enough damage is done. It is up to us to get out of this crisis and put our country on the right track.

The United Nations Association Haiti (UNA-Haiti) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering global solidarity, sustainable development, and democratic governance in Haiti. Founded in 2004 by internationally renowned development expert Harvey Dupiton, UNA Haiti is designed as a Haiti based organization to operate within the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) network, advocating for peace, human rights, and equitable development.

The organization would, like the country it represents, would experience its fair share of Haitian operational dilemma at the structural level, among the hand-picked executive members.

Determined to salvage the organization from a challenging terrain which is Haiti and the special breed of people which are the Haitian people, Mr. H. Dupiton is taking steps to re-organize and give the entity a new face and new life.

Since around 2025, UNA Haiti has been operating under the aegis of the NGO Committee on Private Sector Development, an NGO Committee made up of NGOs working in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.  It is placed under the Least Developed Countries Taskforce of the NGO Committee .

In 2025, UNA-Haiti launched the Ayiti 2030 Agenda Initiative—The impetus is to provide a road map for the country anticipating the collapse of the Haitian State Authority under pressure of illegitimacy.  The project is formulating a plan for Haitians to unite and reach a broad consensus about the future direction of their country.
